We are passionate about school swimming and believe in giving children the opportunity to learn to swim, giving them the skills to stay safe near water.

All year groups participate in lessons in the school swimming pool.

The lessons are provided by fully qualified swimming teachers, supported by an amazing team of staff and volunteers to ensure safety at all times.

There is no cost for the swimming lessons. Children will need a swimming costume/trunks and a towel.

Whether your child is a complete beginner all abilities are catered for in a safe and enjoyable environment. If you have any further questions, please speak to your child’s class teacher.

Swimming competency

• 92% of our current Year 6 cohort can swim competently, confidently and proficiently using one stroke over a distance of at least 25 metres
• All pupils use a range of strokes effectively in their lessons.
• All pupils perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.
