  • Church visit - year 2

Fri 12 Jun 2026 Laura Newell

Year 2 had a wonderful visit to St. Nicholas church this week! The children enjoyed exploring the building and taking part in a special challenge to see how many crosses, doves, and candles they could find. This is no mean feat!

Afterwards, we talked about why these symbols are important to Christians and what they represent. It was lovely to see the children so engaged and curious as they explored the church and shared their discoveries.

It was a truly valuable learning experience, and we are very grateful for the opportunity to visit. Thank you to everyone involved. Alcester Minster Children and Families

    Year 5 Bell Boating Adventure!

Our Year 5 children had a fantastic time out on the water this week taking part in a bell boating experience. Despite the changeable weather, the children (and staff) showed incredible resilience, teamwork and determination throughout the session.

Working together to paddle, steer and navigate the boat, they demonstrated excellent collaboration skills and quickly discovered that success on the water depends on everyone playing their part. Alongside the fun, the children also learnt important water safety skills and gained confidence in a new environment.

LIGHT was the word of the day at our Science Day at Bidford-on-Avon Primary School!

A group of Year 3 children had a fantastic day exploring light through fun, hands-on investigations. They learned about natural and man-made light sources, created shadow figures from tinfoil, used torches to investigate shadows, and made some amazing kaleidoscopes using toilet rolls.

A brilliant day of scientific discovery and creativity!
