  • OPAL in action

Thu 18 Apr 2024 Mrs Hartley

It was lovely to see all the Opal play in action today. Everywhere I looked there was a different activity - everyone was busy having fun, building, scooting, dressing up and playing games. It was really heartwarming to see. Thank you for your continued support providing resources for the children to enjoy.

  • Wellbeing warriors

Fri 12 Apr 2024 Mrs Hartley

Some of our Year 5 children have become our new Wellbeing Warriors. They have been busy setting up mindful activities to do with the children at lunchtimes and have come up with a wish list of resources. If you have any of the following that are not needed / used any more would you please send them into school.

    - fidget toys, small soft toys, loom bands, bubbles, Lego or any craft resources. Also if you have any spare throws / picnic blankets they would love some of the these too! Thank you

  • Zones of regulation

    Wed 10 Apr 2024

We are very excited to launch Zones of Regulation at St. Nicholas. It uses four colours to help children self-identify how they’re feeling and categorise it based on colour. The teaching of the zones helps children better understand their emotions, sensory needs, and thinking patterns. They learn different strategies to help them cope and manage their emotions based on which colour zone they’re in.

Further information and ways to use the Zones to support your child at home have been sent on Studybugs.

More info also available on the website https://www.alcesterstnicholas.co.uk/zones-of-regulation/
