    πŸ¦’ Year 1 Zoo Adventure! 🐧

Our Year 1 children had a fantastic adventure during their visit to Twycross Zoo. The children were full of excitement as they explored the zoo and saw some truly amazing animals, including giraffes, gorillas and penguins.

It was wonderful to see their curiosity and enthusiasm as they learned more about the animals and their habitats, as well as enjoying the chance to explore somewhere new with their friends.

A huge thank you to our amazing staff and our fantastic parent volunteers who helped make the trip possible and ensured the children had such a memorable experience.

We are so proud of how brilliantly the children represented our school – they were curious, respectful and a real credit to us all! 🌟

🌊 Year 6 Pupils Achieve Rookie Lifeguard Qualification πŸ…

We were delighted to be invited to take part in a trial project alongside Chichester University, giving our pupils the opportunity to develop vital water safety and lifesaving skills through the Rookie Lifeguard programme.

During a series of after-school sessions, the children learned how to help someone in difficulty in the water, CPR, and how to place someone in the recovery position – invaluable skills that could one day help save a life.

We are incredibly proud that 26 of our Year 6 pupils achieved their Level 3 Rookie Lifeguard qualification. They were each presented with certificates, badges and a towelling robe to recognise their fantastic achievement.

A huge thank you to Mrs Howl, part of our Sports team, and Debbie Weston (RLSS UK Rookie Instructor and Assessor) for their expertise and support throughout the programme. We would also like to thank Sarah Don for joining our Dream Big, Shine Bright assembly to present the children with their certificates and robes.

Well done to all of the children involved – you have shown fantastic commitment, maturity and teamwork. We are very proud of you all! πŸ‘

World Book Day – A Celebration of Vocabulary!

This year for World Book Day, we put a special focus on developing our love of vocabulary. Children and staff were invited to come dressed as an adjective and they certainly didn’t disappoint!

We had a wonderfully fragrant, very sleepy, truly magical, extremely bouncy and even some very reflective characters walking our corridors (just to name a few!).

The day ended with a very funny Vocabulary Parade, where everyone had the chance to show off their creative costumes and celebrate the power of words together.

Well done to everyone for their creativity and enthusiasm, and thank you to families for your continued support in helping make days like this so special. What a truly word-tastic day!
